It is always wonderful to be able to work with authors in person! This local scribe is not only from the same town, but her kids went to the same school as I did and she knew both of my parents. And, it seems, she has the same sense of humor as I do making the process quite enjoyable. We got the basic design down pretty quickly and then noodled around with her publisher for a bit and finally she said, "Maybe we should put some glasses on Mr. Raven" and the cover was done!
This project has the added advantage of coming out in the year 2012. Why? Because the Pantone color of the year, Pantone 17-1463 Tangerine Tango, is an almost perfect match for the background color!
